The Brief

Dr. Jack Is the Owner of a franchise branch for a Mental Health Care Service called Cereset. As with most franchises the owner of the branch is provided with a few marketing materials and given a handful of leads from headquarters. But most of the marketing is up to them to figure out. Jack approached XYZ Marketing inquiring about the possibility of doing some marketing to get more leads coming his way. The handful of leads headquarters provided was not enough to keep the lights running.

We looked at his situation and after reviewing his agreements with his franchise we saw that we would be able to help him as long as we stuck to the marketing assets the franchises headquarter permitted. We set up a meeting with the head of marketing for the entire franchise and were pleased to find out that our assessment was correct. He even offered to create marketing material for us as long as we requested it and also give permission for marketing material created by us as long as he green-lit it.

With the franchises permission, Dr. Jack signed on with XYZ Marketing and we got him on-boarded.

Project Launch

As soon as we on-boarded the Cereset branch we rolled out and implemented our system but quickly saw we were limited by the marketing materials the franchise gave us access to. We requested some needed marketing material but headquarters were taking a long time to get back to us. So as anyone that takes responsibility would do, we went ahead and created our own marketing materials, following our formula to successful videos, as well as our approach on traffic generation. We sent the marketing materials and sadly didnt hear back from headquarters.

We couldn't just let our client be caught in the middle of all this, so we did as good as we could with the marketing material given by headquarters and we were even able to generate a handful of leads, but nothing we at XYZ would consider a successful campaign.

The Problem

The Results

Once we had everything lined up and got the Landing Pages developed, the Google ads launched, the Meta ads launched, the tracking installed, the retaliating ads in place and the videos in there proper places (along with a few other things) we were ready to push the launch button. We sent one last follow up email to headquarters and had Dr. Jack look over everything, then we launched.

Within less than a week we were pulling 7-10 leads, again the next week, and as we tweaked it we got to 14 leads per weak. Giving Dr. Jack 7x more leads than what his franchise headquarters was providing him with. With now almost 60 leads a month he was able to run a profitable business and keep his staff busy.

The Next Problem

Everything has great. We were gaining momentum and we were getting a predictable flow of leads for Dr. Jack...until we got a Cease and Desist letter… Headquarters did not approve of what we were doing. After multiple attempts to communicate and ask to understand what we would need to change in order to stay in compliance, we did not get a response.

We even offered the entire system to the franchise free of charge, they could just copy what we had done. Even to the point where we offered them the copyright to all the marketing materials we created for Dr.Jack. But after no reply we decided to just pull the plug and turn off our efforts, to be respectful of everyone.
One month later Dr. Jack was back to getting 1-2 leads from headquarters.

What Did We Learn

We learned something really important! We learned that our system works! It works better than that of an international franchise. Our system functions when we are creating the marketing materials and implement them the way they need to be implemented.

Without proper research into your market, your area and how your location might be different than others, proper messaging can be missed.
